Durham boasts good shops, an imposing cathedral and seasonal river boat trips; and quad biking at Hardwick Hall (12 miles), Diggerworld (16 miles), the Bowes Museum and Killhope Mining Centre offer great days out. Fell walking in stunning scenery, golf and riding are available nearby, whilst Hamsterley Forest’s walking and mountain bike trails are 8 miles, and the Lowbarns Nature Reserve’s visitor centre, bird watching and wildflower meadows are 3 miles. Shop 1 mile. The village pub’s popular restaurant is yards away.

Three bedrooms. Entrance hall. Sitting room with electric 'flame effect' fire. Study with sofa bed (for + 2). Spacious modern kitchen/dining room. First floor: Two double bedrooms, one with ensuite shower room/WC. Twin bedded room. Bathroom/WC with separate shower cubicle.

High standard of comfortable accommodation. Lots of space. The cottage was warm and cosy and very modern. The location was an excellent base to explore the Durham area. The location next door to an excellent pub was a highlight. I think it must be a world record as the shortest walk to the pub!
